Join local artists Heather Deegan Hires and Christian Correa and become a part of a living mural at Hayday Coffee’s Community Canvas! This event will be ongoing throughout the week of the event. Participants will be able to watch the mural being created live and get involved with the creation themselves!
Heather Deegan Hires: Local, self-taught artist living in Atlantic City who enjoys creating “out of the box” art in many ways, including drawing, painting, murals, body painting, live performance and art installations. Inspired by art, music, and interaction with people, promoting and creating positive, immersive experiences that attract, beautify and bring community together.
Christian Correa: Christian Correa was born in Atlantic City. A lifelong artist, he’s worked in multiple mediums and arenas, having eventually made his way into murals, thanks in part to the Atlantic City Arts Foundation. On a mission to help create opportunities for individuals and communities to experience more joy and connection, his work in the arts, wellness, and hospitality serve as an extension of that, as he’s created and collaborated on multiple pieces locally including: City Hall – “Enter The Center” The Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City – “Dreams Begin Here”, Little Water Distillery -”The Spirit of Atlantic City”, Bourré – “Brand New Second Line” and Setaara – “A Return to Peace”.
Get inspired and work together on creating a mural to show your love for Atlantic City at Hayday Coffee’s Community Canvas. Come any day between June 5 and June 11 between the hours of 11am and 4pm.
Atlantic City Arts Foundation has the city’s largest mural arts program, with just under 80 murals completed throughout Atlantic City by local, regional, and international artists since 2017. Our three major programs create unique and interactive creative experiences that add beauty and richness to Atlantic City’s landscape as well as exciting artist opportunities, meaningful interactions with residents, and engaging events for tourists. We select artists through a community-reviewed application process to ensure high quality and relevant art is being selected. Our murals have been highlighted as the top 10 things to do in Atlantic City by Visit Atlantic City.
