Asbury Book Cooperative’s got PRIDE! Join us for a day of family fun at Asbury Book Collective celebrating PRIDE month. We will kick off the day with a Drag Queen Story Time and donuts from Purple Glaze! There will be a Pride-themed craft table for all ages and treats throughout the day. We will host a local Young Adult author for afternoon readings, and we will end the day with a celebratory poetry reading!
Miss Savannah Georgia, NJ’s favorite Old School glamour drag queen diva, has
delivered a special brand of drag for over 6 years. Her niche has been to deliver
drag through old school, sometimes a lost art in the ever-changing world of drag. Miss Savannah Georgia will be reading “The Great BIG Storytime Collection” (Sandy Creek) and “Oh, the Places You’ll Go” (Dr. Seuss).
Miss Savannah Georgia has made a name for herself as being a queen sought
after to perform and host fundraisers and benefits for many groups and
organizations that are doing great things for our community and the world.
Her old school divas that she represents include Diana Ross, Whitney Houston,
Natalie Cole, Patti LaBelle, Taylor Dayne, Aretha Franklin, Dolly Parton, Cheryl
Lynn, The Pointer Sisters, Barbra Streisand, Donna Summer, Diahann Carroll,
Cyndi Lauper, Gladys Knight, Billie Holiday, Eartha Kitt, Bette Midler, Gloria
Gaynor, Madonna, Thelma Houston, and Cher – just to name a few.
Miss Savannah Georgia performs and hosts at several venues in New Jersey,
Pennsylvania, Delaware and New York City, has done several Drag Queen story
times for the youth, and brings her flair and style to many political functions, galas
and senior living facilities. And to top it off, she’s arguably the first drag queen
elected to a NJ school board.
No one serves old school better than this gal!
