The Rodney M. Gilbert Theatre Salon & Lecture Series: Celebrating Richard Wesley Join Yendor Theatre Company and Express Newark as we present the Rodney M. Gilbert Theatre Salon, dedicated to the rich legacy and career of Richard Wesley! Born in Newark, Wesley’s career has spanned over five decades from theatre to television and film. This theatre salon features performances from some of Wesley’s most prominent works. The evening will cap off with Wesley in conversation with event curator, Andrew Binger. The Rodney M. Gilbert Theatre Salon & Lecture Series, named after a native son of Newark, celebrates the power of theatre to engage, inform and educate. Through captivating scenes & monologues and further contextualized with powerful conversations, lectures and speeches, this event series uses art as a tool for critical dialogue.
YENDOR has provided artistic excellence through the lens of the community for the last 20 years. To date, the organization has managed and installed over 100 pieces in the City of Newark. Additionally, the company curated and produced performances and productions at venues like NJPAC, Newark Symphony Hall, the Newark Museum of Art and the Newark Public Library. All of our work reflects and speaks to the experience of the Black and Brown communities that call Newark home.
Be inspired, engaged (and challenged) when the Yendor Theatre Company Salon and Lecture Series takes on some of the biggest issues of our time.
