2 Teams of poets—one from New Jersey, one from New York—going head-to-head!
YOU GOT VERRRRSED: NJ vs NY is a performing arts showcase combining poetry slam with shows like MTV’s Wild ‘N Out. Two teams of poets will compete in a four-round competition with bragging rights on the line. At the end of the night, the audience decides with their cheers, claps, and snaps who will be the winning team. This event will also include special out-of-competitive performances to be announced.

EvoluCulture Ventures is an integrated media and performing arts organization that aims to hold space for artists and art lovers who need it. Its flagship show, Evolution Dopen Mic, is one of the longest running active open mic events in the city of Newark. Past events also include poetry slams, art exhibitions, workshops, kickbacks, mental health check-ins, and virtual talk shows for poetry and music.
