Abdiel will guide attendees through the dance’s origins in the early 1970s\, its ties to civil rights\, gay rights and women’s movements\, and its enduring place in American culture — all while getting you moving. Alongside him\, world-renowned DJ Natasha Diggs\, co-founder of Soul in the Horn\, provides a deep\, driving soundtrack that keeps the momentum going strong. \nThe night moves through spotlight performances by Abdiel and Kristine Bendul\, guided instruction for newcomers and experienced dancers alike and open social dancing where the floor belongs to everyone.
