On June 28, Clement’s Place comes alive for North to Shore with Jazz and Joy, an uplifting musical event led by the Lynette Sheard Experience and NJ Mental Health Players that explores the interconnection between jazz and happiness. The show offers powerful and soul-stirring performances by Sheard, who has “a voice that shakes the rafters,” and uses the vehicle of jazz to invite audiences to live joyfully in the moment.

Sheard, an accomplished vocalist, has graced numerous productions, including Dream Girls, Smokey Joe’s Café, Ragtime and A Raisin in the Sun. Recently, she portrayed Gary Coleman in Avenue Q. As Director of the Mental Health Association in the NJ Mental Health Players, she merges her artistic abilities with advocacy to promote awareness, education, and reduction of stigma surrounding emotional wellness and mental illness.

With a vast repertoire spanning R&B, jazz, pop, gospel and soul music, Jazz and Joy promises to create a captivating experience that touches your soul.
