EvoluCulture invites you to choose joy as poetic justice at Life in the Arts (LITA) in the historic Kruger Scott Mansion. The Amethyst and Amber Griot’s Gala celebrates poetry as an essential language in the City of Newark—one that is a catalyst to advance social change while holding space for its practitioners and supporters in hopes of living freely and cleanly. The event will include performances from selected poets and poetry lovers in the Newark arts community, including Margie “Mia X” Johnson, Ameerah Shabazz-Bilal, J Read, Dr. Helena D. Lewis, Ysabel Gonzalez and the EvoluCulture Team.
Plus, the unveiling of the first ever BrickPile Scholarship for a college-bound student poet, a dance party with sounds by DJ’s The IZM and Don Krypton. Doors open at 7PM with a cocktail hour catered by Chef Lita.
