The musical talent keeps rolling in this June with Celebrating the International Sounds of Soccer at Tuesdays at the Turf, presented by the Asbury Park African-American Music Project.

July 14 features the The Dorian Parreott & Friends Jazz Ensemble. Born in 1935 in Asbury Park, Dorian is a musical icon in Asbury inspires music-lovers of all ages. He has been a staple on the scene for decades, both as a storied performer in his own right as well as a band director and supervisor at Asbury Park High School, sharing his gifts with all and using his music to bring joy and inspiration to generations.

In the spirit of sport, the series also celebrates the international sounds of soccer, with AP-AMP’s house DJ spinning a global soundtrack that weaves together music and community.

Celebrating the International Sounds of Soccer at Tuesdays at the Turf is part of a free weekly live music series featuring performances by artists with ties to the Springwood Ave music community. The series is presented by the Asbury Park African-American Music Project (AP-AMP), an organization committed to documenting and honoring the musicians and history of Springwood Avenue and to restoring the Turf Club as a living cultural landmark. Come celebrate and support the music and musicians that helped put Asbury Park on the map.
