That’s exactly what’s waiting for you at the Silent Reading & Writing Party in The Carousel House.

Hosted by three of Asbury Park’s most passionate literary organizations — Asbury Book Cooperative, Project Write Now and the Asbury Park Public Library — this free event is equal parts bookstore, writing retreat and community celebration. Start by browsing an incredible selection of new and used books and bookish merchandise. Then kick back and dedicate a full hour to the book you love or the writing that’s been calling your name. Project Write Now will provide thoughtful prompts and inspiring quotes to spark creativity and keep your momentum going.

Little readers are warmly welcome, too––the Asbury Park Public Library is curating a dedicated kids’ corner complete with children’s books, sensory toys to support focus and Asbury Park-inspired coloring sheets.

When you RSVP, you’ll be able to share your preferred social interaction level, request noise-canceling headphones and let organizers know if a young reader is joining you.
