Songs of Freedom: Poetry Celebrating Juneteenth

Stockton University hosts a special edition of World Above, their monthly open mic and reading series with Songs of Freedom: Poetry Celebrating Juneteenth a celebration of the hard-won freedom, perseverance, and unbreakable spirit of Black Americans on June 19 at Noyes Arts Garage as part of the North to Shore Festival.    The event features local poets, including Belinda Manning, Raymond Tyler, Elle Vintage and Lennox Warner, sharing poems that explore themes of cultural identity and inherited histories. Following their performances is an open mic, where attendees can register to participate and read one poem or prose piece (must be less than two minutes long). Those looking to participate must arrive by 6:45 to secure a spot.   Connect live or virtually on June 19 at 7 PM and witness the transformative power of poetry!  * NTS Official Selections: Stockton University Noyes Arts Garage   The category denotes local independent artists, non-profits, small businesses and faith organizations that applied and won a competitive grant to curate and produce an event for the festival.
